Meagan and I met up this weekend for delicious salted caramel coffee at Atomix Cafe and then we went thrift shopping at Very Best Vintage. Aside from being a great latte and thrifting buddy, Meagan has a most excellent fashion blog called Latterstyle.
If you haven't already checked out Meagan's site, clickety clack on over. She will renew your faith in the personal style genre. Meagan posts pictures of herself in weird/awesome outfits (that don't want to make you slit your wrists) writes thoughtfully about interesting designers and goes to cool shows and gives us her two cents.
Ok, now can we talk about this amazing ensemble Meagan is wearing. The over-sized leather blazer is oddly delicious with the long slim silhouette. Her friend Amanda of Goo Blog made the sweater she's wearing, which you can get a better look at here. Also her iridescent doc martens are super duper.

Stylist Jessica Moazami
My friend Jessica Moazami is a stylist here in Chicago and all around lovely gal. We're always running into each other at events when the sun has set and my camera is safely at home, so we got together last week in Millenium Park to capture the magic. I love this geometric print jumpsuit paired with the big smiley face pendant, so cute. Also Jessica is a Brit so just multiply how smart/beautfiul/interesting as she looks in this photo by about 4 every time she opens her mouth ;)
Check out her sweet blog Confessions of a Fashion Junkie for behind the scenes looks at her shoots and a great calendar of stylish events happening on the Chicago fashion scene and beyond.

First Aid Kit at the Metro
Swedish sister duo Johanna and Klara Soderberg of First Aid Kit are playing in Chicago tomorrow night (9/23) at the Metro! I caught their set at Lollapalooza this summer and it was truly delightful. Really looking forward to seeing them at one of my favorite venues in Chicago.
Also can we talk about these sweet celestial prints for a minute? Both of their dresses are by Swedish designer Rodebjr.
Check out the song Wolf from their latest album Lion's Roar
For all of you not in Chicago they head to Ann Arbor Michigan, Toronto, Boston and then New York before going pretty much everywhere else in the world ;) View the full tour schedule here.

Erin of calivintage
This shot was captured in Central Park during Fashion Week where I caught up with Erin to talk to her and the Modcloth video crew about style and dance moves. (Check out the video here.)
Modcloth Goes to New York Fashion Week
While in New York early this month for fashion week I caught up with the lovely Erin of calivintage and the Modcloth video crew.
They asked me what my fashion spirit animal is. I had never given this a moments thought, so I came up with a "Koala bear, cuddly, adorable and a little ferocious." Had I a hot second or two to reflect, I would have revealed that my true style spirit animal is Fran Drescher from the Nanny (humans are animals too, you know!)
I appear alongside a bevy of other adorable fashion bloggers like Olive My Love, All This Happiness, Katie Louise Ford, The Clothes Horse, Agent Lover, Selective Potential, Born in Flames, It Girl Rag Doll, Kennedy Holmes and Rosemud. They all gave cute answers like a bird, a deer, or a cat. Yup, I said a ferocious koala bear. Oh, also if you don't blink you can see me doing my "signature dance move" around 2:33.
Thanks for including me Modcloth! xoxoxoxo

Photographer Spotlight - Kyle LaMere
Kyle LaMere is a Chicago based photographer and the man behind the incredible Ethiopian Street Style I posted earlier today. I paid him a visit in his natural habitat in Pilsen last week and got this lovely shot of him.
Here he is in action in the capital city Addis Ababa in Ethiopia. See more of the street style he shot here.
I love these photos Kyle has taken on the many trips he has taken to Ethiopia through his involvement in the Awassa Children’s Project, a progressive orphanage for Children who have lost thier parents to AIDS.

Ethiopian Street Style
The definition of global street style is a narrow one, encompassing the body of work shot outside of fashion weeks in New York, Paris, Milan and London. It's gorgeous stuff, but is definitely more about the fashion world than the people living in those cities. I've been thinking a lot about this lately, so when Kyle LaMere of I Shoot Rock Stars told me he was going to Ethiopia to work for the Awassa Children’s Center and that he wanted to shoot some street style for me while he was there I was BEYOND thrilled. So without further a do here are the women of the capital city Addis Ababa, and a glimpse of what is truly global street style.

New York Fashion Week - Male Pattern Awesomeness
Men take note, women aren't the only ones who can rock a bold patterned pant. Witness the coolness that is contained in the following ensembles.
So nice to run into this fine gentleman again. I took his photo last September in a similarly themed outfit; outrageous Chanel bling (this time a CC logo necklace made out of legos), pattenred pants, and a saucey attitude View the photo here. Also his rad wooden vintage Chanel bag is care of Chicago based eDropp-Off.
See, plaid tartan does go with everything.
This street style photographer is giving his subjects a run for their money. Nicely done sir.

New York Fashion Week - Karen Walker
So many Karen Walker Sunglasses so little time! I captured all these street style shots outside her runway show at New York Fashion Week.
Susie Lau from Style Bubble looks extra bright in these neon Orange vareitals.

New York Fashion Week - Visors
What do Chinese gamblers, old-timey accountants, and middle aged female golfers all have in common? They all rocked the visor in a major metropolitan way.
These folks definitely don't fall into any of those categories, but what does unite them (aside from their visors of course) is that they are sporting two of the most radical ensembles I captured at New York Fashion Week this year.

New York Fashion Week - Zombie Boy
I snapped this photo of Rick Genest or Zombie Boy as he is known at Lincoln Center over the weekend. Rick is a model and muse for Thierry Mugler's creative director Nicola Formichetti. He also appeared in last year's Lady Gaga's video Born This Way.
New York Fashion Week - The Man Repeller
Leandra Medine is the Man Repeller. She may be a snob when it comes to labels (ok we'll call it discerning) but that in no way carries over to her general attitude and the way she deals with people in the world She is sweet, goofy and very much like she presents herself on her blog. Yay Man Repeller.

New York Fashion Week Here I Come!
By this time tomorrow I'll be participating in the street style frenzy that is New York Fashion Week. I snapped this AMAZING clear Prada bag last fall. I wonder what delights people will be pulling out of their closet this year?! Keep your eye on the blog for updates and for an up-to-the minute fashion fix follow Tres Awesome on Instagram and twitter.
Habitat For Humanity - Tweeting for a Cause
Last month, I had the privilege of being included in the launch of Habitat for Humanity's Youth Board. Instead of selling tickets to a fundraiser where people eat passed appetizers and sip on Chablis, they solicited donations from big companies to create experiences for influencers (like moi) in exchange for social media chatter online. Some of the cool things we got to experience were a kitchen demonstration from the head chef at Tru, a Second City improv class, and a painting class at Red Frog Events. All while drinking and be carted from place to place in an old school bus!
In between stops I was able to snap some photos of some of my fellow hosts such as the delightful Graham Kostic Creative and Editorial director of Glossed and Found I heart his lil' LV man clutch (electronics go in there!) and kerchief in the pocket of those mustard jeans.
Corri McFadden founder & owner of eDrop-Off looks like a million bucks here in her sheer red top, mini Celine bag and Isabel Marant kicks.
I love this photo of Ryan Beshel, PR director for the 900 Shops and one of the organizers of this incredible event. His look is perfectly suited for this moody shot. One thing's for certain...those tatoos are not fucking around.
Check out more fabulous lookin' peeps from the day on Facebook.

April Francis founder of Dose Market is not hailing a cab, she's hootin' and hollerin' back at some fireman :) Her dress if from The Row and her shoes are from the coolest sneaker collab of all time, Nike x Liberty.
