Jena Gambaccini

I had the pleasure of having breakfast with Jena Gambaccini and about 20 other Chicago fashionistas yesterday at the breakfast that Coach put on to celebrate The Sartorialists new book Closer. Love the multiple blues that Jenna has going on in this outfit not to mention that radical hat.

Check out Jena's blog ChiCityFashion, a great mix of personal style blog, fashion diary and calendar of must see events around town.

Rumi Neely of Fashion Toast

I took this photo of Rumi Neely back in September as she made her way to the Karen Walker show at New York Fashion Week. Doesn't she look delightful in her plaid see through shirt and asymmetrical leather dress.

Très Awesome Featured in Nylon Magazine!

What do Gwen Stefani, Karlie Kloss and Très Awesome have in common? We are all in the November issue of Nylon Magazine!!! I'm a HUGE fan of this magazine and a subscriber of many years, so I can honestly say this is one of the coolest things that has ever happened to Très Awesome in it's little 2 and half year life.

Flip to page 78 to see us represent Chicago as one of Nylon's favorite street style blogs along with Boston Street Style, Streetgeist, Urban Field Notes and The SF Style

The image they chose to feature was actually one that I shot in New York during Fashion week this past September of the lovely Nicole Warne of Gary Pepper Vintage

Patricia Chang (maker of amazing things) created the robot dress and clutch she is wearing.

Designer Elyse Marie Vieni

I took this photo of Elyse Marie Vieni at Randolph Street Market a couple of weekends ago. I heart the crazy earrings she's sporting here, her signature mix of chains and babubles that don't seem like they would go together, but somehow she makes it work. Have a look at her other times on Très Awesome and go for the gold on Cyber Monday and scoop up some of her great pieces here.

The Sartorialist in Chicago

The genre defining street style photographer and blogger Scott Schuman will be at the MCA tomorrow night on Tuesday, November 27 at 7 pm for an informal talk followed by a book signing. I think the last time The Sartorialist came to Chicago he took pictures of these people and said he found the style he found here "disappointing".  Scott it's all about location, location, location. If you have time go to Wicker Park, The Ukranian Village or Pilsen you're bound to find some Sartorialist worthy style ;)

I took this photo of Scott outside the Alexander Wang Fall/Winter 2013 show last February.

Redgi Woods at Randolph Street Market

Redgi Woods creates fabulous looks for the ladies using modified vintage apparel. I found him lookin' all fly at Randolph Street Market where he was selling his delicious wares. Also of note is his necklace by the amazing accessories designer Elyse Marie Vieni (who was also at the market that weekend).

A man and his bike. Redgi look adorable here posing by his ride. He will also be at the next market on December 14th and 15th. Check out all the details here.

Jackie Trezzo at Dose Market

I caught up with Jackie Trezzo at the November Dose Market where her boyfriend Floyd A. Davis IV of Gentleman's boombox was selling his wares.
These ostrich leather boots are divine.

Puff Ball Hat

This is exactly the type of hat I need to lift my spirits about the sad reality of winter that is currently upon us here in Chicago. With a huge fur puff ball like that I don't care how much it snows on my parade ;)

Whitney Ambition in Margiela for H&M

This past Thursday Maison Martin Margiela’s collection with H&M launched here in Chicago and at select stores across the country.  Folks turned up as they always do to line up the night before. Like the lovely Whitney Middleton of the blog Whitney Ambition.

She scored all kinds of rad goodies like the crazy key ring necklace, circle shirt, and the silver candy clutch. This last item was the most coveted at stores across the country and was the first to sell out. She was also able to nab the hot pink one for me which pretty much made my millenium.

What's interesting about this particular designer collaboration was that many of the pieces were not new designs but reissues from earlier collections.  Fabulous if you are an aspiring owner of fancy avante garde clothes, not so fabulous if you've already purchased the candy clutch when it cost more than 1000 buckaroos.

Also check out a photo I took of Whitney over the summer at The Pitchfork Music Festival.

Julian in Wicker Park

I ran into Julian this Saturday on Milwaukee Avenue where he was hanging with pals. Julian is a student here in Chicago. Lookin' good my friend.

Andrea Jia Yin Morris of Cocomori

Andrea Jia Yin Morris is the creative force behind the adorable cakepop shop Cocomori. She is a former art director from Leo Burnett where we met several years ago (she is actually one of the early subjects on this blog). However, since Cocomori has taken off she's said Au Revoir to her 9-5 and hasn't looked back since...

We decided to collaborate on a little street style cake pop project where I take pics of Andrea and then she makes cake pops inspired by her outfit. Delicious AND stylish.

This combination of pattern and color is SO cool.

If Willy Wonka were alive today (or ever existed) he would be majorly jealous of everything happening in these photos.

Andrea made these cakepops to represent the shoes she was wearing that day, a really sweet pair of half matte, half shiny leather pumps.  My camera failed to see the beauty and difference between the two blacks, and the detail shots look just like normal black shoes. Even if we did get good shots of the kicks, what these little suckers actually remind me of is Andrea's sweet top-knot bun.

Andrea is hella busy with all kinds of orders, so you may just be lucky enough to get invited to a party where Cocomori pops are being served. However, if you don't want to leave it up to chance special order some on her site right now. She will also be at the holiday edition of Dose Market on December 12th with gift packs of pops for that special someone (hint hint ME!)

Designer Brandon Sun

This Saturday the lovely and talented designer Brandon Sun was in town for a trunk show at Neiman Marcus. I was asked to a style a look for the event along with Carol Calacci of Second City Style and stylist Jessica Moazami of Addictions of a Fashion Junkie.

My look was composed of the coolest grey sweater with pink fur detailing (look at how I'm clutching it on the mannequin) paired with a sheer lace mini dress over gold leggings with gorgeous Christian Louboutin Nude Spiked shoes. Brandon, if you have a spare gray fur sweater just laying around, you know where to send it ;)

Also how cool is Jessica's Ted Baker necklace?! Answer: VERY.
